To be fair, the terrain in SpaceEngine wasn't all that pretty until a couple of versions ago. The program in the video looks like it is well behind SpaceEngine in terms of development status.

I looked on the site and confirms what we said HarbingerDawn yet the water is amazing in 3D(directx 11), despite not having clouds on the surface SE is certainly much higher
Water is Eric Bruneton's work. It wouldn't surprise me if we get the same looking water in Space Engine, since SE already has planet atmospheres from E.B.
