Problem importing an edited system.

Hey Guys,

Had a little look around the site but couldn't really find an answer to this problem, so hope you don't mind me asking here. I've gotten Space Engine working pretty well on my computer now and gotten to grips with most of the major functions.

What I've wanted to do was essentially create my own custom Solar System. I've found a system with 6 planets that I exported as the basis of my custom script. I then took the script for our standard Sun/Sol, modified one or two of the parameters I needed and then pasted that into the new Solar System script and renamed that to my star.

I started tinkering with the planets in the Solar System script - making sure their parent body was the newly renamed star and modifying basic elements like their names, radii etc.

I created a new folder called 'stars' in the catalog folder and pasted this destination into the universe.cfg file but there's a problem. My new star is now in the system - but the planets still seem to be random, procedurally generated ones that have nothing to do with what's in the .sc file.

I'm sure I'm just being a bit lame and am not doing something pretty basic right, but I can't figure out what it is! Do I have to create a separate script for each planet and put them into another folder and link them to the universe.cfg file? I figured one script would be able to produce the new star and planets in one file but maybe that's not the case?

Anyway, if you can offer any help I'd be extremely grateful. It's a wonderful piece of software and it's going to be invaluable in mocking up an imagined solar system for my own purposes - it would appear I just need to learn a few basic bits and pieces to overcome some of these issues first!

I realise this is probably in the wrong place now - apologies!

I had another good look over the Mods & Addons page and have made some progress but not much. I downloaded the Star Wars universe and had a good look around the code.

Using that as a template, I renamed one of the barycenters to my own system's name (it's called the Gallis System) and then created a new Gallis.sc with a star called 'Gallis' having the Gallis System as its parent. I made some modifications to the mass/luminosity and other parameters and updated the universe.cfg to include Gallis.sc in the planets directory.

I opened up Space Engine, searched Gallis and it appeared - the barycenter and the star, along with my custom parameters for the various things I had changed - so that's progress!

The problem is, I then added a planet, just copied and pasted from another of the Star Wars universe files to start with. I made sure the planet's name was changed, along with parenting it to the star Gallis, but left the other parameters intact, presuming it would be recognised.

But when I loaded up Space Engine, Gallis is there along with the barycenter, but my planet (called Morna for now) isn't!

It's frustrating as I really can't work out what I'm doing wrong. I thought using the Star Wars universe would work as clearly that template and structure works well (and I checked that on my Space Engine beforehand) but it just appears I can get as far as creating a Star linked to a barycenter with their own names and parameters, but I cannot then add a planet to that script and have it show up.

Any thoughts? I feel I must be doing something elementary wrong but I cannot figure out what it is!
